7.4.1 System settings function:
The system settings contain the options already mentioned in these instructions for backing up
the current settings or for restoring a functioning configuration in case any of the changes made
have impaired the functioning of the repeater.
In special cases and if a functional configuration was not backed up, the repeater can be reset to
the factory settings.
Saving settings:
Even if you have not changed the settings, we recommend creating a backup so that, in case the
device is inadvertently reset to the factory settings, you can reload the old settings without having
to perform a new start-up.
• To create the backup, click Save.
• A file named conig.bin is created; your browser's default storage location is suggested. The config.
bin file contains all current settings. You can rename the file and select a different storage loca-
tion, but please note that you must keep the .bin extension and you cannot use special characters
or German umlauts.
Restoring saved settings:
• To restore settings from the backup, ensure that you have access to the correct backup file
(config.bin).
• Click the Browse button.
• Select the file and storage location and click the Upload button.
• A message is then displayed to indicate successful import of the backup.
The repeater automatically restarts with these settings; therefore, please close the browser win-
dow and wait approx. 3 minutes until the signal LED on your repeater lights up. The repeater
is then ready for operation again. You may need to restart your PC/notebook so that it can be
assigned a valid IP address.
