13.2. starting-up Type 8792

13.2.1. specifying the standard settings

When starting-up the positioner in the main menu (MAIN),
implement the following standard settings:
Input the input signal (INPUT)
→
In the INPUT menu option input the unit signal used for
the set-point value.
(4 – 20 mA; 0 – 20 mA; 0 – 10 V or 0 – 5 V).

Using the arrow keys, select
→
Hold down the right selection key (RUN) for approx.
3 seconds (countdown).

X.TUNE

When the automatic adjustment completes, the message
"X.TUNE ready" is indicated on the display.
If a fault occurs, "TUNE err/break" is indicated on the
display.
→
Press any key to return to the main menu.
→
To leave the main menu, press the left selection key
(EXIT).
In doing so, the changes are transferred to the memory
(EEPROM). "save EEPROM" is indicated on the display.

Automatic adjustment of the position controller to the
operating conditions (X.TUNE)
Warning!
Risk of injury from sudden valve movement.
While the X.TUNE function is running, the valve auto-
matically moves from its current position!
• Never run X.TUNE while process is running!
• Take appropriate measures to prevent the equipment
from being unintentionally actuated!
note!
Observe the following to avoid incorrectly adjusting
the controller
Always run X.TUNE
• at the supply pressure available
during subsequent operation
(= pneumatic auxiliary energy).
• Run the X.TUNE function preferably without operating
medium pressure to exclude interference caused by
flow forces.
13.3. starting-up Type 8693
To operate the positioner as a process controller, implement
the following steps:
Setting up the position controller: see Type 8692
→
Specify the standard settings of the positioner and
automatically adjust the position controller (X.TUNE).
Setting up the process controller:
→
Incorporate the P.CONTROL additional function
in the main menu via the configuration menu
(ADDFUNCTION).
→
Implement the standard settings for the process
controller under P.CONTROL.
