Thank you for buying the VTBAL4! Please read the manual thoroughly before bringing this device into service. If the
device was damaged in transit, don't install or use it and contact your dealer.
2. Use
• Open the battery compartment at the back of your scales and insert the battery. Mind the polarity.
• Remove the protective foam. Press the ON button. The VTBAL4 will display "0." and "g" meaning the weighing
unit is grams. If not, press the g/oz button.
• Gently place the object on the centre of the weighing platform. The weight and an "H" are displayed. To tare a
weight, press the TARE button after the display has stabilized. Remove the weight. The negative
counterweight is now displayed. Press TARE to refresh the scales.
• Press the g/oz button to switch weighing units (grams/ounces).
• Press the OFF button to switch off the scales. Note that the scales will automatically switch off after 90
seconds of inactivity.

3. Other Functions

• An H symbol appears after having placed a weight onto the platform. The displayed value will be locked for 5
seconds.
• Fast calibration: Turn on the scales and place a 1kg weight onto the platform. If the displayed value differs
from the actual weight after stabilization, press and hold the g/oz button and release after for 10 seconds.
"1000" will flash twice meaning the scales have been calibrated.
• Low battery indication: "LO" and
specifications.
• Overload indication: "Err" will be displayed.
