TWIN- FUNCTION MOWER DECK
This mower deck has a twin-function: side discharge and mulching. The desired function can be easily
selected even during work thanks to the Quick Shift lever; this allows the user to save time because he
must not remove baffles or change the blade (fig. 27).
ADJUSTING THE CUTTING DECK
Cutting deck levelness is essential in order to obtain an evenly mown lawn.
Park the mower on a flat surface and check that the tyre pressure is correct and then regulate the 4
adjusting nuts (fig. 17 – 17A), so that the edge of the cutting plate is at the same distance from the floor
(100 mm) on both sides, with the operator sitting on board and the cutting deck in the position no. 1 (fig.
18/A).
If you are unable to level off the deck, contact an Authorised After-Sales Service Centre.
BLADE - ENGINE BELT
If the belt becomes twisted or comes off, make all the checks and adjustments stated below, keeping the
deck at the lowest position.
Pay attention when positioning the belt guide; move it towards the belt, checking the deck at the various
height settings (fig 19).
HYDROSTATIC AXLE - ENGINE BELTS
These belts are self-adjusting, therefore they do not require any adjustment. It is sufficient to check the
spring tension. To replace the belts, release the tension spring (fig. 21).
BLADE ROTATION
Rotation is started and stopped using the switch (fig. 1, ref. 5).
When rotation is engaged , the engine must be running at medium rpm and the machine must not be in
the grass for cutting. Never start the blades with the engine at maximum rpm. The machine is equipped
with an electromagnetic clutch which also brakes the blade during disengagement. The blades are also
disengaged automatically when the cutting height adjuster lever is moved to the highest position.
The blade must stop within 5 seconds: if this is not the case, adjust the 3 nuts of the electromagnetic
clutch, placing a 0.3 mm feeler gauge under the brake plate.
N.B. This operation must be carried out by an authorized service centre.
CHANGING THE BELTS
The movement is transmitted from the engine to the hydraulic transmission and to the blades by means
of two v-belts. Replace the belts as soon as they show signs of wear!
Their replacement and subsequent adjustment are fairly complex procedures and must be carried out by
an Authorised Service Centre.
For cutting deck engine belt, the belt guide beside the deck pulley has to be removed (fig. 19); release
the belt stretcher spring and remove the belt guide (Fig.20).
ALWAYS USE ORIGINAL BELTS!
TRACTION RELEASE LEVER
The traction release device is located at the back of the machine (fig. 22); if the machine breaks down, to
allow it to be towed or moved by hand, move the lever to idle position (fig. 22, ref. B). In the position (A)
shown in fig. 22 the machine is in working condition.
RACK STEERING GEAR
The machine is equipped with a rack steering gear and a greaser. Lubricate the rack steering gear every
40 hours. To carry out this procedure it is necessary to remove the operator's board. Unfasten the 6
screws and remove the board from the steering column. Grease the rack steering gear using the
appropriate greaser (fig. 29)
