2.6 Setting the Decoder
Address for the Car
Lighting
Information about the
compartment cars
The compartment cars come from
the factory equipped with a lighting
kit that can be turned on in digital
operation with a decoder integrated
into the cars. This lighting will not
work in DC operation. In AC operation
this lighting can be turned on by
changing the address. In principle
the lighting works when there is a
higher level of voltage present in the
track.

Set the desired address with swit-
ches 1 through 8 on the decoder.
Important:
The decoder in the compartment
cars comes from the factory with the
same address as the locomotive
(address 09). When you press the
"function" button on the locomotive
controller, the car lighting goes on
and off together with the locomotive's
headlights. If you like, you can assign
a separate address to each car.
When all 8 switches are set to "off"
the lighting will also work in conven-
tional AC operation. The lighting is
not visible until there is a higher level
of voltage present in the track.
In digital operation an address for the
lighting should always be set.
