Starting current limiting
The electronically controlled smooth start
takes care that the machine starts without
jerk. As a result of the machine's reduced
starting current, a 10 A fuse is suffi cient.
Protection in case of disk locking
When cutting disk is used for cutting, it
may get locked in the cut. To reduce the
risk of injury or burning of the machine, the
electronics reacts to rapid growth of load
by turning the engine off. For restart turn
the machine off and then on again.

Work instructions
► Check that the label on the disc shows
the permissible peripheral speed or per-
missible revolution speed.
► If the permissible revolution speed is
given on the disc, it must not be lower
than the highest no-load speed of the
grinder.
► Discs with a permissible peripheral speed
of 80 m.s
and higher may be used.
–1
► Test new cutting discs by letting them
run for about one minute with no load.
► Unbalanced or vibrating discs should not
be used and should be discarded.
► Protect grinding discs from shock, impact
and lubricants.
► If the grinding and cutting wheels are
worn down to the mark on the wheel
protective cover (see the arrow sign),
they should be replaced with new ones.
This maintains the optimum grinding and
cutting performance of the machine (pe-
ripheral speed of the grinding and cutting
wheels).
► To cut steel, concrete or stone using a
grinding disc use the protective cover for
dividing.
► For grooving and cutting of concrete
or stone it is recommended to use the
suction cover PROTOOL DCC-AGP 230
together with an appropriate PROTOOL
dust vacuum cleaner. Use diamond discs
PROTOOL All-D230 Premium with this
cover.
10 Maintenance
- The unit should be stored in a dry place
where it is protected against freezing.
- The ventilation holes [1-5] on the motor
casing must not get blocked up.
- The cable may only be replaced in a spe-
cialised electrical workshop qualifi ed to
perform such work.
After approx. 200 hours of use the following
maintenance work must be performed:
- Check the length of the brushes. Brushes
shorter than 5 mm should be replaced.
- The machine turns itself off automati-
cally when the brushes are worn out. The
machine must be sent to a service centre
for maintenance.
WARNING
To preserve the protection class the
machine must undergo a safety in-
spection; this must be done in a spe-
cialised electrical workshop qualifi ed
to perform such work.
- Service – see enclosed sheet.
11 Environmental
Protection / Disposal
Power tools, accessories and packaging
should be sorted for environmental-friendly
recycling.
Only for EC countries:
Do not dispose of power tools into
household waste!
According to the European Directive
2002/96/EC on waste electrical and elec-
tronic equipment and its incorporation into
national law, power tools that are no longer
suitable for use must be separately collect-
ed and sent for recovery in an environmen-
tal-friendly manner.
