SYNCHRONIZATION AT THE END OF THE
EXPOSURE TIME
REAR
Some cameras have the option of synchronization at
the end of the exposure time. This is mainly beneficial
for exposures with slow shutter speeds (>
moving subjects with their own light source because
moving light sources then drag a trail of light behind
them instead of it building up in front of them, which
would happen if synchronization was at the start of
the exposure time. With moving light sources this
results in a "more natural" reproduction of the
photographic situation.
Depending on the mode, the camera sets slower
shutter speeds than the flash synchronization time.
In some cameras,
operation is not possible in
REAR
certain modes (e.g. certain vari or subject programs
or with preflash function against the "red-eye effect").
It cannot then be selected or is automatically deleted
or not executed (see camera manual).
operation is set on the camera (see camera
REAR
manual).

THE SYNCHRONIZATION SOCKET

The flash unit can be fired via the synchronization
socket in automatic flash mode
, manual flash mode
A
and stroboscope mode.

Notes:
• A flash unit mounted on the camera cannot fire any
other flash units via a synchronization cable.
• An old flash unit with high-voltage ignition must not
be connected to the synchronization socket.
