6.4 Press the test button and the value of insulation resistance
in megohms will be displayed. Keep the button depressed
until the bar graph reaches its maximum deflection and
the resistance reading stabilizes. The bar graph will
represent the insulation test voltage and the insulation
resistance value will remain visible whilst the test button is
depressed. Note the reading.
Note: If the display shows "OR", then the circuit resistance
being measured is greater than the range selected. Select a
higher resistance range to show the actual value.
6.5 Release the test button and the circuit will discharge as
indicated by the bar graph.
6.6 When the bar graph has reached zero, disconnect the test
leads from the circuit.

7 Continuity and resistance tests

Test lead auto null function
When carrying out continuity tests, the measured resistance
includes the resistance of the test leads. This instrument
provides a null function to automatically compensate for the
test leads before displaying the actual circuit resistance value.
7.1 Rotate the function dial to the Ω position to select
continuity test function.
7.2 Rotate the range selector switch to the 20Ω range.
7.3 Connect the test leads to the instrument and short the tips
of the test leads together.
7.4 Press and hold down the test button by twisting it
a quarter turn clockwise. The display will show the
resistance of the test leads.
7.5 Turn the function dial to the "auto null" position, wait for
the display to stabilize and at least 3 beeps have been
heard.
7.6 Release the test button by turning it anti-clockwise.
7.7 Turn the function dial to the continuity position.
7.8 Press the test button and ensure the display reads zero
before proceeding. A flashing Ω symbol on the display
indicates that auto null is activated.
Note: The auto null function is cancelled if the instrument
is turned OFF, or the function switch is rotated past the OFF
position. The auto null set up procedure must be repeated for
subsequent measurements.
7.9 Connect the test leads to the circuit to be tested.
 Warning! Before proceeding, ensure the live circuit warning
indicator is not flashing in the display and the buzzer does not
sound. If the circuit is live, the actual circuit voltage will be
shown on the display. Do not continue the test.
7.10 Press the test button. When the beep is heard, the test
has been performed and the circuit resistance will be
shown on the display.
