Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt kann an einen USB-Port eines Computers angeschlossen werden und dient dort zum Lesen
und Beschreiben von Speicherkarten in vielen verschiedenen Formaten, z.B. CompactFlash, Smartmedia,
SD/MMC und Memorystick/Memorystick Pro.
Alle enthaltenen Firmennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen
Inhaber. Alle Rechte vorbehalten.

Anschluss an den Computer
Verbinden Sie den Kartenleser über das mitgelieferte USB-Kabel mit einem freien USB2.0-Port Ihres
Computers. Da die Treiber bereits im Betriebssystem integriert sind, wird der Kartenleser automatisch
erkannt und im System eingebunden. Möglicherweise sind jedoch bei Windows XP Administratorrechte
erforderlich, damit die Installation vorgenommen wird.
Nach Abschluss der Installation finden Sie z.B. im Datei-Explorer von Windows zwei neue Laufwerks-
buchstaben.
An- und Abstecken des Kartenlesers
Entnehmen Sie vor einem An- bzw. Abstecken des Kartenlesers bzw. dem Ausschalten des Computers die
evtl. eingesetzten Speicherkarten; ansonsten können Daten auf den Speicherkarten bzw. die Speicher-
karten selbst beschädigt werden.
Einstecken/Entnehmen von Speicherkarten
Stecken Sie die Speicherkarte in richtiger Orientierung in den zugehörigen Einschub des Kartenlesers.
Wenden Sie beim Einstecken keine Gewalt an!
Wenn Lese-/Schreibzugriffe auf die Speicherkarte erfolgen, so warten Sie, bis diese abgeschlossen sind
(LED blinkt nicht mehr). Ziehen Sie erst danach die Speicherkarte heraus. Wird die Speicherkarte während
einem Lese-/Schreibzugriff herausgezogen, so können die Daten auf der Speicherkarte beschädigt werden,
möglicherweise ist danach sogar eine neue Formatierung der Speicherkarte erforderlich.
Auslesen/Beschreiben von Speicherkarten
Jeder der Einschübe wird wie ein herkömmliches Wechseldatenträger-Laufwerk eingebunden. Zusätzliche
Laufwerksbuchstaben werden von Windows automatisch vergeben.
Im Datei-Explorer können Sie nun die Daten auf der Speicherkarte auslesen (oder Daten auf die
Speicherkarte ablegen), genauso wie von Festplatte oder Diskettenlaufwerk gewohnt.
Tipps & Hinweise
Bei manchen Speicherkarten (z.B. CompactFlash-Festplatte) ist ein High-Power-USB-Port erforderlich;
dies ist ein USB-Port, der einen Strom von 500mA liefern kann (z.B. der USB-Port des Mainboards oder
eines USB-Hubs mit eigenem Netzteil).
Beim Löschen oder Beschreiben von Speicherkarten im SD- oder Memorystick-Format ist darauf zu achten,
dass der Schreibschutz ausgeschaltet ist.
Bei Verwendung eines USB2.0-Ports Ihres Computers sind je nach verwendeter Speicherkarte höhere
Lese- und Schreibgeschwindigkeiten als bei USB1.1 möglich. Speziell bei großen Speicherkarten bringt dies
eine enorme Zeitersparnis. Abhängig von der Speicherkarte sind mehrere MBytes/s möglich.
Entsorgung
Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden gesetzli-
chen Bestimmungen.

Connection to the computer
Connect the card reader via the USB cable contained in the delivery with a free USB2.0 port of your computer.
Since the driver is already integrated in the operating system, the card reader is automatically recognized
and integrated. It is possible that with Windows XP a user administrator might be necessary for the
installation to be effected.
After the installation, you will find two new letter drives in the Windows File Explorer.
Connecting and disconnecting card readers
Remove all plugged in memory cards before the connection or the disconnection of the card reader or before
turning the computer off in order to prevent possible damage to the data stored in the memory card or the
memory card itself.
Connecting/disconnecting memory cards
Connect the memory card in the correct orientation in the corresponding plug-in unit of the card reader. Do
not use any force when plugging in!
When reading/writing accesses are effected on memory cards, wait until they are finished (LED does not
blink any more). Then remove the memory card. If the memory card is removed during a reading/writing
access, data on the memory card can be damaged and a new formatting of the memory card might be
necessary.
Reading/recording memory cards
Each plug-in unit is integrated like a normal CD-ROM drive. Additional drive letters are assigned
automatically by Windows.
You can now read the data on the memory card in File Explorer (or record data on the memory card) as you
do with hard discs or floppy drives.
Tips & Notes
To use certain memory cards (e.g. CompactFlash hard disc), a High-Power USB port might be necessary,
which can deliver a current of 500mA (e.g. the USB port of the mainboard or a USB Hub with own mains
unit).
When deleting or recording memory cards in SD or memory stick format, make sure that the write protection
is off.
When using a USB2.0 port of your computer, higher reading-and writing speeds than with USB1.1 are
possible depending of the memory card used. This is a big time saver specially with big memory cards.
Depending on the memory card many Mbytes/s are possible.
