Intended use
This high-class 8.5 mm (1/3") zoom focal lens is of a high quality and creates a high-
quality video image with cameras that have a built-in auto iris amplifier (DC-IRIS), or
with cameras that have a video/DC-IRIS switch. If in doubt, consult an expert.
The focal length is 2.8 to 12 mm (Order No. 751697) or 6 to 60 mm (Order No.
751644). The zoom focal lens is suitable for CS mounting.
The zoom focal lens must not become damp or wet.
Only use this zoom focal lens together with cameras,

Symbols
A lightning-bolt symbol in a triangle indicates a health hazard, e.g.

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to
observe these safety instructions! We do not assume liability for
consequential damage!
We do not accept any liability for personal injury or damage to pro-
perty caused by incorrect handling or non-observance of the safety
instructions. The warranty will be void in such cases.
• The product must not be modified or converted, because not only the
CE approval will become void but also the warranty.
• Only use this zoom focal lens with cameras that have a built-in auto
iris amplifier (DC IRIS) or a video/DC IRIS switch. If in doubt, consult
an expert.
• The product should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct
sunlight, moisture, intense vibrations or heavy mechanical stresses.
• Where the zoom focal lens is used connected to other devices, e.g. a
camera, the operating instructions and safety notices of the devices
connected must be followed.
• The use of a surveillance camera system does not replace the per-
sonal supervision of children, or people who require special
assistance, but only serves as a support to this supervision.
• After rapid changes in temperature, the product requires a certain
period of time to stabilise, in order to adjust to the surrounding tem-
perature, before it can be used.
• Electronic devices are not toys and should be kept out of reach of
children!
• If you are unsure about the correct use of this product or concerning
safety, please consult a qualified expert.
• Never leave the packaging material lying around unattended. Plastic
film/bags etc. can be dangerous playthings for children, there is a
risk of suffocation.

Installation

• Find a suitable location for mounting the camera.
• Observe the camera's operating instructions when mounting it.
• Pull off the covering caps on the zoom focal lens.
• Screw the zoom focal lens carefully on the CS mounting device of your camera.
Connection
• Plug the connection plug of the zoom focal lens into the socket of your camera,
minding the correct position.
Adjusting focal length, wide/tela and focus
This zoom focal lens has two (continuous) focal lengths. The change between wide
and tele (indication: T and W) always requires a re-adjustment of the focus (indication:
F(=far), N(=near)).
Keep in mind, that the furrowed retaining screws must be loosened before adjusting
the focal length or focus. They must be tightened (hand-tight) after the adjustment.
Maintenance and cleaning
To clean the outside of the device, a dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient.
Clean the glass very carefully, otherwise you may scratch it. Do not use any
aggressive cleaning agents.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer
possible, disconnect the device immediately and secure it against
inadvertent operation.
• A safe operation can no longer be assumed, if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device does not function any longer and
- if the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long
period of time
or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress during transportation.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the
Employer's Liability Insurance Association forelectrical systems and
operating materials are to be observed.
• The zoom focal lens must not become damp or wet.
• The focal lens is supplied with power via the connected camera.
• Never replace damaged mains cables yourself. In such an event, dis-
connect the appliance from the mains and take it to a specialist work-
shop.
• Never pour out fluids over electrical devices. You run the risk of
causing a fire or a fatal electric shock. If liquids enter the device,
immediately disconnect it from the power supply, remove the plug
from the mains and consult an expert.
• Maintenance, adjustment and repair work must only be carried out by a
qualified expert or in a specialist repair shop.
• Please contact our technical customer service or other specialists, if
you have questions that were not answered in these instructions.
• Only operate the product within the specified temperature and power
range.
• Please observe the notes on batteries/rechargeable batteries in these
operating instructions.
None of the connection cables must be bent nor squeezed. This can
result in malfunctions, short circuits and defects in the device.
Please note, you should choose a position for your camera that it is
not exposed to direct light (this can cause glare). Further, the zoom
focal lens must be protected from moisture, dust and vibration.
This zoom focal lens is suitable for CS mounting. If in doubt, ask an
expert if your camera is suitable for CS mounting.
The zoom focal lens must not become damp or wet.
To ensure an appropriate power supply, a camera with a built-in auto
iris amplifier (DC-IRIS) is needed. Cameras with a video/DC-IRIS
switch can also be used. If in doubt, ask an expert if your camera
features these requirements.
