10. Troubleshooting
Device does not work after the POWER switch is switched on
•
Power unit has not been plugged into the socket correctly > Connect the power unit correctly
•
Mains socket is not live > Check mains socket
The mixer is switched on but the sound is inaudible
•
No input signal > Check the signal source
•
Incorrect input selected > Select the correct input using the input selection switches
•
Input level set incorrectly > Set level using the GAIN control as described
•
MASTER control is in position "0" > Set MASTER control correctly
•
Channel faders are set to minimum > Set channel faders correctly
No signal can be heard although the level display indicates a signal
•
Subsequent device (amplifier) not switched on or incorrectly set > Check subsequent device, select correct input on the amplifier, increase
volume
•
Output incorrectly connected or not at all > Connect output as described
Humming sound can be heard
•
The record player earth cables are not connected to the GND earth screw terminals > Connect the record player earth cables to the GND
screw terminals
•
A humming loop arises between the connected devices > Connect signal earth by means of a special earthinsulated cable
One channel is not working
•
Connection cable has become detached > Check connections between the devices
•
The balance control on the amplifier is out of adjustment > Set balance control on amplifier correctly
Tone is distorted
•
The volume control is incorrectly set or the connected amplifier is overmodulated > Set volume as described
•
The connected device does not adhere to the required specifications for a cinch connection or does not have the appropriate connections
> Use a device with a suitable connection
•
GAIN control incorrectly adjusted, the mixer is overmodulated > Set volume as described
Repairs other than those described above should only be performed by an authorised specialist.
11. Maintenance
Make sure you observe the following safety notices prior to cleaning or servicing the product:
•
Always pull the power plug out of the socket!
•
Repairs/opening the device may only be conducted by experts who are familiar with the associated risks respectively
the pertinent regulations. You have to disconnect all connected devices from the mains prior to performing
maintenance or repair work.
•
The device is maintenance-free and may not be opened! The guarantee expires when you open the device.
•
Only clean the outside of the device with a soft, dry cloth or a brush. Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents or
chemical solutions as these may damage the surface of the device or impair its function.
Check the technical safety of the device at regular intervals, e.g. for damages of the casing, the power cable, etc. If safe operation can no longer
be assured, put the device out of operation and protect it from being used again accidentally! Safe operation can no longer be assumed if
•
the device shows visible damage,
•
the device no longer functions
•
after long storage under adverse conditions or
•
after heavy transport strain.
