The load can be activated again within 10 seconds after it has been
switched off, if the microphone detects a noise (for example, a loud shout-
ing or clapping hands).
When 10 seconds have elapsed, the microphone is switched off. There has
to be a temperature change in the detection area again for the connected
load and the microphone to be activated.
Using the rotary knob "VOICE" (B), you can set the microphone sensitivity or
switch off the microphone. To increase the sensitivity, turn the rotary knob
clock-wise to the right. If you turn the rotary knob fully to the left, counter-
clockwise ("OFF" position), the microphone will be switched off.
Rotary knob (D): Setting the brightness control
This rotary knob allows the switching threshold to be set, i.e. the ambient
brightness at which the motion detector is activated.
Turning the rotary knob counter-clockwise to the left, in the direction of the
moon symbol, means the motion detector activates when it is darker; turn-
ing it clockwise to the right, in direction of the sun symbol, activates the
motion detector in brighter conditions.
The "TEST" position is used to test the detection area. In this process, the
brightness detection is deactivated, and the switched-on duration for the
connection "L
" is approx. 3 seconds if the PIR sensor detects a tempera-
ture change in the detection area.
Sliding switch (C): Function selection
The sliding switch is used to select the function of the motion detector:
Switch position Function
"OFF"
The connected load is permanently switched off (after
switching it off the time set will elapse again)
"ON"
The connected load is switched on permanently
"AUTO"
Automatic operation; if the motion sensor detects
temperature changes within the detection range, it
activates the connected consumer load for the set
time

Timer Operation

For the use of this function, it is necessary for one (or more) button(s) to be
connected to the motion detector.
If you press the button twice in quick succession, the load connected to
the motion detector stays on for 6 hours. Afterwards, the motion detector
switches back to normal operating function.
The timer function can be used if the connected load (e.g. staircase light-
ing) needs to remain switched on for a longer time period.
If the switched-on duration of 6 hours needs to be ended early, briefl y press
the button once. Afterwards, the motion detector switches back to normal
operating function.

Troubleshooting

The connected load is not switched on
• Make sure that the mains voltage is available for the motion detector.
• Check the settings for the brightness control.
• If one or more lights are connected to the motion detector, check the light
bulbs.
The connected load is also switched on/off without recognisable
movement in the detection area
• If one or more lights are connected to the motion detector, these must
not lie in the detection range of the PIR sensor. Otherwise, the PIR sen-
sor recognises the lights, due to the build-up of heat, as a temperature
change in the detection area. The same applies to heaters.

• When the ambient temperatures are colder, the temperature difference,
e.g. of a moving person, is greater than in summer. Thus, the achievable
range varies.
The connected load is not switched off
• If an ongoing temperature change occurs in the detection area (e.g. a
moving person who works in the detection area), the set switched-on pe-
riod restarts with every recognised temperature change.
• Reduce the detection area placing e.g. a piece of transparent adhesive
tape onto the PIR sensor.

Maintenance and Care

The motion detector is maintenance free. For this reason, you should never
open it or take it apart (except for the procedure for installation and con-
nection described in this manual).
Maintenance or repairs may be performed only by qualifi ed personnel.
Clean the diffusing panel of the motion detector occasionally from dust or
sediment; use only a dry, clean and soft cloth.
Do not use any aggressive detergent, as this might cause discolouration.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the rel-
evant statutory regulations.
