Always isolate the measuring device/module from
the measuring and supply circuit (battery) before
touching the back of the measuring device.
a2 D.C. voltage measurement
External divider resistors shall have a maximum tolerance of 0.1%.
Connect the measuring cables to the object to be measured ensu-
ring that the safety precautions are complied with. If the - symbol
appears before the measured value in the display, this indicates a
negative voltage (or incorrect polarity of the measuring cables).
Take care when dealing with voltages in excess of
25 V.a.c. or 35 V.d.c. do not touch circuits or parts of
circuits in which voltages in excess of 25 V.a.c. or
35 V.d.c. occur, or can occur.
a3 Off-scale indication
If the measured voltage exceeds the maximum permissible input
variable or if a measuring range is exceeded, a „1" or a „-1" ap-
pears in the display instead of the measured value, to indicate off-
scale.
Disposal
If the panelmeter is inoperable despite the power supply being pre-
sent and polarity being correct, it must be disposed of in accordan-
ce with the applicable statutory regulations.

Is the power supply connected with the cor-
rect polarity/switched on?

Is the measuring circuit interrupted?
Are the DP1, DP2 or DP3 decimal points
bridged?
• The opening of covers or removal of parts, except
where this is possible by hand, may expose live
parts. Terminals may also be live. Before making
adjustments, carrying out servicing or repairs or
replacement of parts or assemblies which require
opening of the unit, it must disconnected from all
power sources and measuring circuits. If, howe-
ver, adjustment, servicing or repair on a live, open
unit is unavoidable, this may only be carried out
by a qualified electrician who is familiar with the
associated dangers and the relevant regulations
(VDE 0100, VDE 0701, VDE 0683).
• Capacitors in the unit may still be charged even
when it has been disconnected from all power
sources and measuring circuits.
