Explanation of the functions
The radio signal (DCF) for the exact time in Germany is encrypted and sent out by a transmitter
in Mainflingen near Frankfurt. The transmitter has a range of approximately 1,500 km; under ide-
al ambient conditions even up to 2,000 km. Clocks that are equipped with a radio receiver can
receive and decode the radio signal within this transmission range. Setting the time manually is
not necessary with these clocks (e.g. changing the time from winter to summer time). The
change from winter to summer time or vice-versa is performed within 24 hours, at the latest.
Included in the DCF-Signal is the exact time (theoretical deviation of 1 second in one million
years!) and the date (the date cannot be shown on this radio watch version).
Information before using for the first time
Before using for the first time, check if the radio watch is set to the so-called "Sleeping-Mode".
When you purchase the watch, all its hands point to 12 o'clock, which indicates that it is in the
sleeping mode so as to save energy. To start the watch, hold down any of the keys for about 1
second. Thereafter, the second hand moves quickly to set the internal stored time.
Then follow the steps in this operating manual.
First use
After purchase, please place your radio controlled watch for about 24 to 48 hours besides a win-
dow to obtain the signal.
For best reception, lay the watch with its face down.

This radio controlled watch receives the signal from Germany. If there is no
signal available, the watch will continue to work using the last time informa-
tion received.
