4. Design and function
DANGER!
The ProcessCalibrator must be switched off before connecting or
disconnecting any electrical connection. In addition, the supply voltage
marked on the power supply unit must match the local mains voltage.
The measuring inputs must not be electrically overloaded (see chapter
3 "Specifications") and if the test item has its own power supply, the
internal 24 V supply must be switched off via the menu.
WARNING!
If the ProcessCalibrator is set for reading from test items with voltage
outputs (e.g. 0 ... 1 V / 0 ... 2 V / 0 ... 5 V / 0 ... 10 V) and no test item is
connected to the measuring input (voltage), then a non-zero value will
be shown for the test item on the display. This is not an error, it is simply
due to the electrical design of the measuring input.
The internal 24 V voltage supply must not be short-circuited nor should
the max. output current through the snubber circuit exceed 50 mA. (In
addition, it should not drop below 20 mA, in order to ensure an accurate
current measurement.)
4.3.1 Electrical connection of potential-free pressure switches
WARNING!
Only potential-free (passive) switches, as shown in the drawing
and using the supplied test cable, should be connected to the
ProcessCalibrator.
A current or voltage input could damage the CPH6000.
