7.1.
Maintenance safety notes
- Before opening the wastewater tank, ensure the room is sufficiently ventilated. Keep sources of ignition away
and do not smoke.
- Make sure that the pump(s) are at ambient temperature.
- Inlet and outlet pipes must be emptied and pressure-less before work is started.
- The level in the wastewater tank must be below the attachment level (pump flange) of the wastewater pumps
(Fig. [18]).
- Aggressive cleaning agents can damage seals. Use hot water and a brush for cleaning work.
The pump flange <33> must not be removed.
7.2.
Maintenance work, intervals
Maintenance of lifting stations (DIN 12056-4)
The system must be maintained regularly through an appropriate expert. The intervals must not exceed:
- 3 months for systems in commercial use
- 6 months for systems in multi-family homes
- 1 year for systems in single-family homes
A maintenance protocol with details of all the work carried out and the major data must be prepared for all main-
tenance work.
In as far as faults are found which cannot be eliminated, the system operator must be notified immediately in wri-
ting by the maintenance expert, and must confirm receipt of this notification.
7.3.
Maintenance jobs
7.3.1
Visual inspection
Check all the system components for completeness, a firm fit, sound condition and water-tightness.
7.3.2
Check the shut-off valve
The shut-off valve(s) must be able to be operated easily and smoothly.
