6.9.6 PIXEL COMP Menu

Usually the image sensors have some defective pixels from the born and they can be compensated digitally by the
image signal processor.
This menu provides the defective pixel corrections up to 64 white pixels.
This menu detects the defective pixels at dark with lens closed and saves their data for compensation. When starting
the detection, camera closes the lens automatically and detects the white dot noise exceeding the amplitude defined
by DEFECT THR.
CAUTION: Lens cap is strongly recommended for closing the lens because some lenses can't be closed
perfectly by its iris.

Descriptions
Sets the threshold level to judge the white defect pixel.
If the amplitude of a pixel at iris close exceeds the threshold level, it will be judged as
a white defect pixel and compensated up to 64 pixels.
Low value sets low threshold and whiter defect pixel will be detected.
CAUTION: Too low setting in this value or not enough closing of lens will result
in failing the compensation because white defect pixels will exceed
64 pixels. In case, increase DEFECT THR a little or block the lens with
a cap completely and try again.
Boost up the amplitude of the pixel to be detected easily.
Higher setting boost up more.
CAUTION: Too high setting in this value will result in failing the compensation
because white defect pixels will exceed 64 pixels.
In case, decrease this setting a little and try again.
Pressing button will start the compensation.
'SUCCESS' or 'ERROR' message will appear in a few seconds.
If ERROR occurs, try again after adjusting above settings.
