Switching on the
appliance
Turn the temperature selector on

Selecting the temperature
Set the temperature selector on Fig. 2/1
to a number. The higher the number,
the lower the temperature. We recom
mend a medium setting (of e g. 2-3).
On appliances with temperature display
you must set the temperature selector so
that its pointer remains within the black
zone over the long term. Fig. 4
Note
S If you cannot open the freezer
compartment door immediately after
closing it, wait 2 3 minutes until the
partial vacuum has equalised.
S The refrigeration system may cause se
veral areas of the freezer shelves to frost
quickly. This does not affect function or
power consumption. The appliance
does not require defrosting until the en
tire surface of the freezer shelf is covered
with more than 5 mm of frost or ice.
S The sides of the housing are sometimes
heated slightly. This prevents conden
sation in the area of the door seal.
S To ensure the lowest energy con
sumption, the rear panel (condenser)
of the appliance should be 100 mm
from the kitchen wall.

The figures next to the symbols indicate

of the produce. If frozen produce is
purchased, comply with the manufac
turer's date or sell by date.
Ice block
(not all models)

If a power failure or malfunction occurs,
the ice blocks can be used to slow down
the thawing process. The ice blocks can
also be used to cool food temporarily, e.g.
in a cold bag.
Making ice cubes
Fig. 8
Fill the ice cube tray ¾ full of water
and place in the bottom of the freezer
compartment. If the ice cube tray is stuck
to the freezer compartment, dislodge with
a blunt implement only (spoon handle).
To loosen the ice cubes, hold the tray
briefly under running water or twist the
tray slightly.
