2.6 Shortening Hose

Irreparable damage of hose/Damage of hose beyond repair.
– Always cut hose at lever – never at caliper.
– Never cut hose with a side cutter or saw. Make sure the round shape of
the brake hose is not distorted when cutting.

Loss of fluid.
– Never try to pull lever when system is opened up.

Damage of pads.
– Make sure that there is no fluid leaking on rotors or pads.
 It is possible that the hose of your BFO disk brake have to be shortened.
Please consider possible changes in the near future regarding your handle
stem or handlebar (e.g. longer or steeper handle stem, higher handle stem
or a combination of both). Shortening hose is easy – elongating hose is only
possible through the purchase of new ones!
 The BFO H O has a hose connector at each end of the hose. To disconnect

the hose pull out the safety pin at the hose connection. The brake hose can
now be disconnected by pressing down the ring shaped lock whilst pulling
out the brake hose (pic. 9). Do not use force or buckle the hose. Hose
should be pushed in as far as possible. Put the safety pin back into the nut
(pic. 10). Disconnect hose only at one end. Never pull lever when system
is opened up.
