2. Fitting of the System

The outstanding braking function, the reliable stability as well as the size
accuracy of your BFO brakes are achieved through original accessory –
BFO rotor, BFO pads, BFO adapter. Use original accessories preferentially.
Accessory from other manufacturers can affect braking function, stability
as well as size accuracy of your BFO disk brake negatively. Make sure
all of the components are compatible when using accessory from other
manufacturers. The use of accessory from other manufacturers is at your
own risk. BFO will not assume any liability for damage arising through the
usage of accessory from other manufacturers..

Danger of accident due to unpredictable braking performance
through unsuitable combinations of rotor/pads when using
outside supplied parts.
The mounting/fitting steps, service instructions, tightening torques
etc. shown out in this manual can be applied on original BFO parts and
accessories only.
Before fitting the system
– fix frame in suitable mounting stand.
– fork, handle stem and handlebar should be assembled.
– remove wheels if necessary.

2.1 Fitting of Rotors

– Put rotor in direction of rotation (see direction arrow) on mounting flange
of the hub.
– Set all six screws by hand – approx. 2–3 rotations.
– The tightening of the screws should be carried out in the order stated
above/below (on opposite sides) and with a tightening torque of 6 N·m
(pic. 1).

– Clean and degrease rotor thorough with suitable, residue free solvent
(e.g. alcohol).

2.2 Fitting of Adapter

Danger of accident due to damaged caliper through
unsuitable adapter.
– Never use adapter, which require concave/convex washers.
– Use BFO adapter preferably.

Danger of accident due to failing caliper mount.
– Always use the original screws from the manufacturer of the adapter.
– Always comply with the required tightening torque.
– Make sure that caliper lies plain and torsion-free on adapter or directly
on mounting base.
