Intended use
•
This product is intended for opening tins containing food.
•
The product is designed for private use, not for commercial use.
•
Only use the product for the intended use and as described in
these instructions. Any other use is deemed improper.
•
Defects arising due to improper handling, damage or attempts
to repair the appliance are excluded from the warranty. This
also applies to normal wear and tear.
Safety instructions
Risks of injury
■
Attention, danger of suffocation! Keep the packaging away
from children and pets.
■
This product is not intended to be used by persons (including
children) with impaired sensory or mental abilities or those
lacking experience and / or knowledge unless they are super-
vised by a person responsible for their safety or have been
instructed by said party in how to use the product. Children
must be under supervision to ensure that they do not play with
the product.
■
Attention! Be careful when handling the cutting blade, it is
sharp! Keep your fi ngers, hair, jewellery and clothing away
from it!
■
Do not open any tins that are under pressure, e. g. aerosol tins
or tins containing fl ammable liquids and / or lighter fl uids.
■
Remove the batteries from the product before you put it away.
If batteries have been inserted, the motor can be activated by
accidentally pushing the On/Off button, even without a tin!
Handling the batteries properly
■
Swallowing batteries poses a risk of death. Therefore keep
batteries and the product out of the reach of children. Should a
battery be swallowed seek medical help immediately.
■
Before inserting the batteries check that the contacts in the
product and on the batteries are clean and, if necessary, clean
them.
■
Only use the battery type specifi ed in the technical data (see
the "Technical data" chapter).
■
Make sure that the cutting blade has come to a stop before you
take off the battery compartment cover.
■
Always replace all batteries at the same time. Do not mix dif-
ferent types or brands of batteries or batteries with different
capacitance. When changing batteries ensure correct polarity
(+/–).
■
Remove the batteries from the product if they are empty or if
you are not using the product for an extended period. This will
prevent damage which can be caused by leakage.

If a battery has leaked, avoid contact of the battery acid with
skin, eyes and mucus membranes. In case of contact with bat-
tery acid, rinse the affected area immediately with plenty of
clean water and seek immediate medical attention.
■
Immediately remove any leaking batteries from the product.
Clean the contacts before inserting new batteries.
■
The batteries should not be recharged or reactivated by any
other means, taken apart, thrown on a fi re, immersed in liquid
or short-circuited.
Proper use
■
Check the product for damages prior to each use. The product
may not be used if it exhibits visible damages. Do not disas-
semble the product and do not attempt to repair it or to replace
the cutting blade yourself. In the event of damage, contact the
customer service.
■
In the event of damages / malfunctions, turn off the product im-
mediately!
■
Do not allow the device to fall and do not subject it to strong
percussions.
■
Do not subject the device to extreme temperatures, severe
temperature fl uctuations or direct sunlight.
■
Do not submerge the product in water!
■
Before cleaning the cutting blade, take the batteries out of the
product.
■
Do not use any scouring or abrasive cleaners or cleaning pads
to clean the product.

Prior to fi rst use
Unpack all parts, make sure that the product contents are com-
plete (see the "Product contents and product overview" chapter)
and check for any damages from transport. If you identify dam-
ages to the components, do not use them (!), instead contact the
customer service.
