SET-UP INFORMATION
The 210 mm full-range speaker of the DIREKT EINKLANG reproduces the radiated sound in a more
powerful manner than conventional speakers. As a result, the position of the two speakers within
the room has a significant influence on the sound produced.
As a general rule, the DIREKT EINKLANG should be arranged as freely as possible (Fig. 1). In the
ideal configuration the speakers and the listening position should form an equilateral triangle. When
the left and right speakers are the same distance from the listening position their sound arrives at
the same time, resulting in a harmonious, natural music reproduction.
The sound of the speakers can be significantly influenced by their angle in relation to the listening
position. A greater angle makes the sound more direct and present, while a lesser angle makes the
sound less present and emphasises the three-dimensionality instead. This allows the sound pattern
to be adapted to suit the room's acoustics and your personal preference.
There should be a clear line of sight between the loudspeakers and the listening position. Any
sound-absorbing or reflecting obstacles in the path will distort the sound.
FEET AND SPIKES
The feet for the DIREKT EINKLANG are provided in a separate package and have to be fitted after
being unpacked. A matching hex or Allen key is enclosed. For fitting, the loudpeaker should be
placed on its top on a scratch free surface (carpet etc.). The feet are then secured one after the
other with two screws each as shown in Fig. 2a and 2b. The loudspeaker is then turned around and
set up, ideally by two people.
The feet are delivered with soft silicone feet. These feet are ideal for separating the loudspeakers
from vibration-prone floors (e.g. timber floors in old buildings). For hard floors (e.g. stone, concrete),
the spikes provided should be used. The spikes are height-adjustable and possess a counter nut.
Any irregularities in the floor may be offset and a firm stand may be achieved with the spikes. They
also decouple the loudspeakers from the base so that any undesirable resonance is avoided.
