As soon as boiling stops, the unit automatically

shuts off.
The indicator light extinguishes.
•
If desired, you can press the on/off switch again
•
to boil the water once more. However, before
doing that, please wait about 30 sec. after the
unit automatically shut itself off.

Lime filter

The removable lime filter prevents lime scale be-
ing poured out.

Dry running and overheating protection

This unit is equipped with a dry running and
overheating protection system. If you ever oper-
ate the unit without any water or with too little
water, the unit shuts itself off. Wait a moment
until the unit has cooled off. Fill the unit with
water and continue as usual.

Lift-off shut-off

If you happen to lift the unit off the base station
while boiling, the unit shuts itself off. This is the
so-called lift-off shut-off.

Cleaning

First pull the plug out of the electric socket and
let the unit cool off.
Clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, moist
cloth. If heavily soiled, you can use a mild deter-
gent.

Decalcifying

Depending on the hardness degree of the wa-
ter, lime scale can build up over time on the bot-
tom and on the interior wall of the stainless steel
tank. The harder the water, the faster the lime
scale builds up. That is harmless but it can impair
the performance of the unit.
For that reason, we recommend regularly decal-
cifying the unit as follows
Fill the unit three-quarters full with water.

Boil it.
•
After the unit has shut itself off, fill the unit ad-
•
ditionally with distilled white vinegar up to the
MAX mark.
Important
Never boil this mixture!
Let the mixture stand overnight.
