Using the status monitor has no effect on the evaluation after shift
operation. The status of the train itself is displayed under failures. If
the color of any of the items changes, the driver must adjust the
driving style to suit in order to still keep to schedule.
Green means that the item is 100% operational. Changes of color
from amber to red indicate the corresponding operational status.
This feature can be turned on and off under Options / Game.
Under Doors the drive can see on which side the doors are currently
open. "Green" indicates that the doors are closed and "red" open.
Destination display (F8)
The train destination is set and displayed here so that passengers
know where the train is going to. This display is always „empty"
before the journey begins and has to be set by the driver. Points will be
deducted if you forget to do this. In order to set the destination, press
"F8" which will open a small monitor with two arrows. Press the CTRL
key in order to select these arrows with the mouse pointer. Click on
the appropriate side to scroll forwards (right arrow) and backwards
(left arrow). Stations are displayed using their abbreviation. (Abbrevia-
tions explained in the appendix)
Press the CTRL key again to deactivate the mouse function or just
press" F8" to close the window. The currently set destination will be
displayed on the outside of the train.
You can repeat the procedure at any time.
