Charging the Battery
Before first use, make sure the mains voltage available in your area corresponds
to the operating voltage stated on the type label of the charger.
1. Plug the charger (8) into a mains socket. Plug the cable of the charger into
the charging socket (7) of the hair trimmer in order to charge the battery.
Alternatively you can put the hair trimmer on the charging base (10). Make
sure the electric contacts fit right.
2. Connect the plug with the charging base. You cannot plug it in the wrong way.
The batteries have to be charged for at least 7 hours.
The charging indicator LED (1) lights up while charging. The charger does not
stop charging automatically. Disconnect the charger from the power mains
manually.
With fully charged batteries, the hair trimmer can be operated for approx. 30
minutes.
The operating time will slightly decrease after each charge. This is a charac-
teristic of all rechargeable batteries. To prevent this, we suggest emptying the
batteries completely after 10 charging cycles. Then fully recharge the batter-
ies and it will return to optimum performance after recharging.
Preparation
1. Make sure the hair trimmer is in good condition. Use the included oil (11) and
oil the blade every time before use. Use the oil sparingly and wipe off exces-
sive oil with a cloth.
2. Place a towel around the neck of the person whose hair is being cut to
prevent bits of hair falling down the collar. Comb the hair through carefully to
remove any knots. Use the device for cutting dry or slightly moistened hair
only.
3. Have the person sit on a chair so that his head is on the same level with your
eyes. Hold the unit lightly in your hand so that you can always cut accurately.
This procedure requires some practice and we recommend leaving the
hair a bit longer when cutting for the first time.
