For selecting an operating mode (see section entitled "Operating the appliance")
The indicator light will remain lit while the appliance is heating up and during any
additional heating operations
For selecting a temperature
Application
For baking and roasting on one or two levels
For baking and roasting on one level. Ideal for cakes with moist toppings (e.g. cheese-
cake)
For frozen convenience products and dishes that require plenty of heat from below (see
section entitled "Baking")
For poultry and larger pieces of meat
For flat (i.e. thin), small items for grilling (e.g. steaks, sausages)
For small amounts of flat (i.e. thin), small items for grilling (e.g. steaks, bread)
For food and baked items on which you want a crust to form, or which need more brown-
ing on the underside. Switch on bottom heating at the end of the baking time for a short
time only
For gently defrosting pieces of meat, bread and delicate pastries (e.g. cream gateau)
Makes cooking compartment care and cleaning easier
