Warning notices - Structure and meaning
Warning notices indicate hazards and their consequen-
ces for the user or surrounding persons. Warning noti-
ces also describe the measures for preventing these
hazards. The signal word has a crucial importance. It
indicates the probability of occurrence and the severity
of the hazard in case of non-compliance:

On the product
!
Observe all warning notices on products and ensure
they remain legible!
Risk of injury by laser
Looking directly into the laser source will
result in serious eye injuries.
¶
Do not look into the laser source.
¶
Do not aim the laser beam at people, par-
ticularly at the eyes and face.
¶
Do not aim the laser beam at reflective
surfaces.
¶
Note the provisions for proper use.
Laser radiation
The class of the laser device indicates the level of poten-
tial danger associated with its accessible laser radiation.
On class 2 laser devices, the accessible laser radiation
is in the visible range of the spectrum (400 nm to
700 nm). If a person accidentally looks into the laser
for a short period of time, the eye will be protected by
the eyelid. Class 2 laser devices may therefore be used
without further precautionary measures if the user
is definitely not required to either look into the laser
intentionally for extended periods of time (>0.25 s) or
repeatedly look into the laser or at directly reflected
laser radiation.
!
The protective reflex of the eyelid may become slo-
wer if a person is under the influence of medication.
This increases the risk of eye injury caused by the
laser. Wearing laser safety glasses of protection level
R1 is recommended for anyone who is under the
influence of medication.
Disposal
Dispose of used electrical and electronic
devices, including cables, accessories and
batteries, separately from household waste.
