Troubleshoo琀椀ng
Problem
Low heat / Low 昀氀ame
when valve turned to
high.
Excessive 昀氀are-ups/
uneven heat.
Burners burn with
yellow 昀氀ame,

smell of gas.

burner, accompanied
by the smell of gas, and
possibly di昀케cul琀椀es in

Burner will not light
with the igniter, but will

"Paint" appears to be
peeling inside lid or

too low. (Rumbling

Possible Causes
Blockage of gas.
Improper prehea琀椀ng.
Improper prehea琀椀ng.
Excessive grease and ash build up
in drip pan.
Possible spider web or other
debris, or improper air shu琀琀er
adjustment.
Improper air shu琀琀er adjustment.
Jet-昀椀re outlet is dirty or clogged.
Normal occurrence on hot days.
Grease build-up on inside surfaces. This is not a defect. The peeling is caused by
Lack of gas.
Supply hose is pinched.
Dirty or clogged ori昀椀ce.
Spider webs or other ma琀琀er in
venturi tube.
Solu琀椀on
Check for spider webs in the burner or ori昀椀ce.
Preheat grill with main burners on high for 5 to 10
minutes.
Preheat grill with both main burners on high for 5 to
10 minutes.
Clean drip pan regularly. Do not line pan with
aluminum foil. Refer to cleaning instruc琀椀ons.
Thoroughly clean burner by removing. See general
maintenance instruc琀椀ons. Open air shu琀琀er
slightly according to combus琀椀on air adjustment
instruc琀椀ons. (This must be done by a quali昀椀ed gas
installer.)
Close air shu琀琀er slightly according to combus琀椀on air
adjustment instruc琀椀ons. (This must be done by a
quali昀椀ed gas installer.)
Clean jet-昀椀re outlet with a so昀琀 bristle brush.
This is not a defect. It is caused by internal
vibra琀椀ons in the regulator and does not a昀昀ect the
performance or safety of the gas grill. Humming
regulators will not be replaced.
hardened grease, which dries into paint-like shards
that 昀氀ake o昀昀. Regular cleaning will prevent this. See
cleaning instruc琀椀ons.
Check gas level in propane cylinder.
Reposi琀椀on supply hose as necessary.
Clean burner ori昀椀ce.
