1.7 Cleaning, Maintenance and Storage
1.7.1 Cleaning
If cleaning is necessary, refer to the Instructions for Use of the Exelia infusion module for
the recommended cleaning agents.
Exelia Maintenance Adaptor is not intended to be sterilised.
1.7.2 Maintenance
WARNING
Do not modify the device (except in the case of operations recommended by
Fresenius Kabi).
Do not perform any maintenance or service operation while the device is used
on a patient.
Provided that all instructions in this document are followed (including operating and cleaning
instructions), the device continues to function beyond its rated service life of 5 years.
The device can be reused without any limitation throughout its lifetime.
The Exelia Maintenance Adaptor does not require any preventive maintenance.
For information about warranty or to return an accessory, contact your Fresenius Kabi sales
representative.
1.7.3 Conditions for storage and transport
Observe the following conditions for storage and transport.
■ Temperature: - 10°C to + 60°C. Optimal storage temperature: + 10°C to + 35°C.
■ Relative humidity: 10% to 90% maximum without condensation.
1.7.4 Using the device after storage
Remove the device from storage in advance to make sure it meets the operational conditions.

If the device has been stored at a temperature below 0°C, we recommend keeping the
device at ambient temperature for at least 8 hours before using it.
We recommend that the commissioning test be performed when the device is installed after
storage, and before being used.
1.7.5 Recycling and disposal
Devices with this label must not be disposed of with the general waste. They must be
collected separately and disposed of according to local regulations.
