Installation guide
Safety notes
Activities such as installation, connection and startup
may only be carried out by qualified personnel.
Qualified personnel are persons whose technical
training, knowledge and experience as well as knowledge
of the relevant regulations allows him to assess the work
assigned to him, recognize possible hazards and take
appropriate safety measures.
The operator is responsible for ensuring that local safety
regulations are observed.
In particular, the operator must take steps to ensure that a
defect in the product will not result in hazards to persons
or equipment.
The product must not be opened, modified or changed. If
defects and unresolvable faults occur in the product, take
it out of service and secure against unauthorized use.
Reasonably foreseeable misuse
The product is not intended for the following applications
and areas and may not be used there:

In safety-oriented applications in which personal safety
depends on the device function
–
In explosive atmospheres
–
In food applications

Important installation instructions
NOTICE
Functional impairment
Improper installation can impair the function of the BMF
and lead to increased wear and damage.
► The position sensor must not touch the BMF.
► Shield magnetic fields that could influence the
measurement.
► Install without applying force.
► Do not tilt the housing during installation.
► Do not tilt the hexagon socket.
► Tighten the screws carefully.
For mounting on a pneumatic cylinder, only cylinders that
have a permanent magnet installed as a position encoder
are suitable.
A rotating cylinder head leads to greater inaccuracy!

Installation (continued)
1. Place piston rod of the
pneumatic cylinder in
thedesired position.
2. Move the sensor in the
T-slot until the area in
which the yellow LED
remains consistently
on is detected
⇒ Fix sensor in the middle of this switching range.
3. Insert the sensor.
4. Tighten sensor
(Allen key 2.0,
tightening torque 0.4 Nm
or screwdriver 4×0.8 mm,
tightening torque 1 Nm).
