Safety Notes !
AC Schnitzer Front Splitter - i3 (I01) -
Before disconnecting the high-voltage system, the vehicle must be decommissioned. Decommissioning in the
absence of the driver can only take place under the following conditions:
Belt lock released and driver's door open and no brake actuation and no drive pedal actuation and speed < 3 kph
(2 mph).
Work on live high-voltage components is in principle prohibited. Before every working step on the high-voltage
system, this must be disconnected by a correspondingly trained specialist (high-voltage safety plug removed) and
secured against unauthorized recommissioning (padlock). Before starting work, check and ensure that no voltage is
present.
Work may only begin when: corresponding display appears in COMBI instrument: High-voltage system
disconnected
If a high-voltage warning (check lamp, check control etc.) is given, it is imperative to determine the cause of this
warning via the diagnostic system and eliminate the cause of the fault before any further work is carried out on the
vehicle.
If the absence of voltage cannot be confirmed, work may not begin. Danger of death ! The absence of voltage
must be confirmed by an electrical specialist qualified to 1000 V DC using corresponding meters/measurement
methods before work begins.
=> In these cases, contact an electrical specialist or Technical Support !
During charging, no work may be performed on high-voltage components. Charging cables must be separated from
the vehicle before work begins.
- The vehicle must not be charged and refuelled simultaneously.
- No work may be performed on the high-voltage system while the internal combustion engine is running.
- When terminal 15 is live, or during charging the high-voltage battery, the coolant pump and electric fan may
switch on automatically. Before working on the electric fan, the following preparatory work must be carried out to
prevent injury from the electric fan starting automatically:
- Disconnect any charging cables connected.
- Switch off terminal 15.
- Disconnect the high-voltage system.
- Separate the plug connection on the electric fan.
