1 Description of appliance and functions
1.2 Description of appliance
Versions and power supply The appliance can be installed as a pedestal (type S4) and wall-mounted version
(type S4W). The operation and functioning of these versions are identical and are
described on the basis of the pedestal version.
The pedestal and wall-mounted versions are each equipped with a plug b and
mains cable a for the power supply (see "section 4.1" page 58).
Mobility The appliance is mounted on a height-adjustable pedestal i, j with castors or
on a pivoting, height-adjustable wall arm j (see "section 3.2" page 57). The
appliance is positioned using the handle 7.
Heating elements The appliance has five heating elements 1 with ventilation openings 2, each
of which is equipped with a heater and a fan.
Side arms The two side arms of the appliance can be folded in. The two side heating
elements 1 can be put in three positions 1, 2 and 3.
Temperature sensor During a treatment (except <Drying> and <Highlights>), the temperature sensor
3 measures the temperature at the customer's head and automatically maintains
the optimal treatment temperature.
Protection filter A protection filter in front of the temperature sensor 3 protects it from soiling.
Control panel In control panel 6 you will find the function buttons d for selecting and setting
the treatment programmes and the display for treatment time and temperature.
Customer button The treatment temperature can be lowered by approx. 4°C (degress Celcius) by
pressing the customer button 4.
1.3 Description of functions
Operating principle Heat treatment of the hair speeds up the treatment process and ensures uniform
colouring, curl or care results.
Drying Five powerful fans ensure rapid, gentle and even drying, as the side arms and side
heating elements can be placed in the optimal position.
Heat generation and release The five heating elements 1 produce a pleasant warmth in the treatment area.
The ventilation openings 2 dissipate the high temperatures in the heating
elements 1 and therefore must not be covered or become soiled.
