In the event of scale deposits
Scale deposits on the bottom of the appliance lead to increased energy con-
sumption and reduce the service life of the appliance.
Descale the appliance as soon as scale deposits become apparent.
■
Use a descaler designed for household appliances (e.g. for coffee machines).
Proceed as detailed in the instructions provided for the use of the decalcifying
agent.
■
After descaling, rinse the appliance with lots of clean water.
Inserting/removing the scale filter insert
The spout of the kettle is fitted with a scale filter 7 insert, which can become
clogged with particles or scale over time. You can take the scale filter insert 7
out to clean it:
1) Open the lid by pressing on the release button 1.
2) Pull the scale filter insert 7 out upwards.
3) Clean the scale filter insert 7 with a moist dishcloth and under running
water.
If scale deposits have solidified in the scale filter insert 7, place the filter in
a water-vinegar solution with a ratio of 6:1 for a few hours. Rinse the scale
filter insert 7 out with plenty of clean water afterwards.
4) Insert the scale filter insert 7 again so that it engages and is firmly seated.
