SAFETY INFORMATIONS

Keep children and other persons out of the working area.
Do not allow children to play with this tool or its packaging.
Do not use the product if parts are damaged.
Use the product for the intended purpose only.
Never lay the hose in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle battery or the electrical connections
on the starter. There is a risk of a short circuit.
Be careful when working with the engine running. Loose clothing, tools and other objects can be
caught by rotating parts and cause serious injury.
Be careful when working on hot engines because of the risk of burn injuries.
This manual serves as a brief guide and does not replace a workshop manual. Always refer to
the vehicle-specific service literature, particularly the technical data.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. Packaging should be
sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with
the environment. Contact your local solid waste authority for recycling information.
PREPARATION
 Pressure test at the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve connection flange via the adapter (3)
1. Remove exhaust gas recirculation valve.
2. Install the exhaust gas recirculation adapter (3) with the gasket (2) to the exhaust manifold
3. Insert the Lambda probe adapter (5) into the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) adapter (3).
Note: Take care that the O-rings are properly seated and gas-tight.
4. Connect the quick coupling (6) to the oxygen sensor adapter (7).
 Test the pressure on the mating thread of the oxygen sensor using the adapter (5)
1. Remove the oxygen sensor.
2. Insert the oxygen sensor adapter (5) into the mating thread of the oxygen sensor.
Note: Take care that the O-rings are properly seated and gas-tight.
3. Connect the quick coupling (6) to the oxygen sensor adapter (7).
PERFORMING THE PRESSURE TEST
1. Start the engine and leave idling.
2. Note the reading on the scale, the pressure should not exceed 0.09 bar (1.25 PSI).
3. If the value measured exceeds this value further tests must be performed to determine the cause,
such as clogging or a constriction in one of the downstream catalytic converters.
4. If the measured value is below 0.09 bar (1.25 PSI), repeat the measurement at a higher engine
speed.
5. Increase the engine speed to 2500 rpm.
6. Note the measured value on the scale, the pressure should not exceed 0.21 bar (3 PSI).
7. If the value measured is exceeds this value further tests must be performed to determine the
cause, such as clogging or a constriction in one of the downstream catalytic converters.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
If the vehicle is equipped with a Y-shaped exhaust pipe and downstream catalytic converter, a
measurement must be taken upstream of each catalytic converter.
For vehicles with two catalytic converters arranged one behind the other, a flow test is required
upstream of each catalytic converter.
For vehicles with a double exhaust system, tests are required on both sides of the exhaust
system and upstream each catalytic converter.
