OPERATION
C
Set up the instrument on an even surface or mount it onto a tripod.
After switching on the unit the flashing laser diode indicates that the automatic self-levelling procedure
is working. The laser starts rotating when self-levelled. If not the laser was set up out of the self-
levelling range (±5°). An audible alarm sounds. Re-set the instrument on more even surface.
TILT FUNCTION
After powering on the laser automatically activates the TILT function. The TILT LED is flashing slowly
during the activation procedure. When the activation is completed (after approx. 30 sec.) the LED is
illuminated. If the laser is disturbed, the rotation stops and the TILT LED will flash quickly. The laser will
not re-level automatically.
If the level of the instrument is disturbed it will readjust itself (within the self-levelling range of 5°).
If the level is disturbed at a large range (for example if a tripod leg has changed by mistake) a height
offset will be caused. This will be avoided by the TILT function. The instrument will shut off even within
the self-levelling range: Power on the unit and wait until the self-levelling procedure is completed.
In order to deactivate the TILT function press the button (3).
VIBRATION-WIND-SECURITY FUNCTION (V-W-S)
Press the button (5) to activate V-W-S. The V-W-S LED (6) is illuminted and the TILT LED (4) starts
flashing. When the V-W-S LED (6) and the TILT LED are both illuminated V-W-S is activated. The V-W-S
function automatically activates the TILT function. This function allows continuous operation during peri-
ods of vibration and wind. If a significant movement occurs the laser stops rotating and the TILT LED
(4) and the laser beam start flashing. Press the V-W-S button (5) to cancel. Press the V-W-S button (5)
again to re-activate.
