1. Press in new bush 17.
CAUTION
Damage to the bush 17 when
using unsuitable tools!
Damaged bush 17 can no longer
fulfi l its function.
Press bush 17 from above
into actuator base 16 with an
appropriate tool that will not
damage bush 17.
2. Lubricate new lip ring 4
(GEMÜ recommends MOLYCOTE 111
COMPOUND).
3. Insert new lip ring 4.
4. Insert new lock washer 5.
5. Lubricate actuator spindle 15 (including
dowel pin 30 and adapter 31)
(GEMÜ recommends MOLYCOTE 111
COMPOUND).
6. Insert the actuator membrane assembly
manually into actuator base 16 from
above through bush 17 and push it
down until actuator membrane 14
abuts actuator base 16.The actuator
membrane assembly comprises
actuator spindle 15 including dowel
pin 30 and adapter 31, hexagon nut 21,
washer 9, upper and lower membrane
plate 6, actuator membrane 14 and
two sealing washers 22 (for diaphragm
sizes 40 and 50 distance piece 28 and
O-ring 27).

7. Take care that the hole patterns of
actuator membrane 14 and actuator
base 16.
8. Assemble the actuator as described in
chapter 5.3, points 1-10.
5.3 Assembling the actuator
1. Insert spring set FP into actuator base
16.
2. Put on actuator top 10, take care that
the hole patterns of actuator top 10,
actuator membrane 14 and actuator
base 16 are aligned.
3. Clamp actuator in a press.
Applied pressure too high!
Risk of breakage of actuator
top 10!
Only use minimum required
pressure.
4. Bolt together diagonally actuator top 10
and actuator base 16 with bolts 12 and
washers 13.
Important:
The bolts 12 between actuator
top 10 and actuator base
16 are always inserted from
below.

5. Slowly release the press.
6. Put protective caps 29 onto bolts 12.
7. Screw optical position indicator SA1
into actuator.
8. Screw in protective cap SA2.
9. Reinsert loose compressor 3 and
washer 47.
10. Reconnect control medium.

6 Nm
