Maintaining the chain
bar
Use cut-protection gloves
when handling the chain or
the chain bar.
1. Switch off the engine and let the device
cool down.
2. Turn the small screw (14) with the com-
bination tool anticlockwise in order to
remove the tension from the saw chain
(9).
3. Unscrew the two nuts (15) of the spro-
cket cover (13) using the combination
tool (17).
4. Remove the sprocket cover (13), the
blade bar (10) and the saw chain (9) .
5. Check the chain bar (10) for wear.
Remove burrs and straighten the guide
surfaces with a flat file.
6. Clean the oil passages (28) of the
chain bar, in order to guarantee a
trouble-free, automatic oiling of the saw
chain during operation.
7. Mount the blade bar (10), saw chain
(9) and sprocket cover (13) and tension
the saw chain (9).
When in an optimal condition, the
oil passages will automatically
spray the saw chain with a little oil a few
seconds after starting the petrol chainsaw.

Turn the chain bar

Use cut-protection gloves when han-
dling the chain or the chain bar.
The blade (10) has to be reversed regu-
larly after a working time of approximately
10 hours in order to ensure even wear.
1. Switch off the engine and let the device
cool down.
2. Turn the small screw (14) with the com-
bination tool (17) anticlockwise in or-
der to remove the tension from the saw
chain (9).
3. Unscrew the two nuts (15) of the spro-
cket cover (13) using the combination
tool (17).
4. Remove the sprocket cover (13), the
blade bar (10) and the saw chain (9) .
5. Turn the blade around its horizontal
axis and install the blade and chain as
described under "Installing the sawing
chain and blade".
When doing so, pay attention to the
correct rotation direction of the saw
chain!
Direction of travel of the
saw chain
Use the graphical symbol below the chain
sprocket cover (9) as a guide to the align-
ment of the saw chain (13) when the blade
is rotated. The illustrated direction of travel
on the blade is no longer true.

Storage

• Clean the device prior to storage.
• Attach the protective blade cover.
• Store the device in a dry and dustproof
location and out of reach of children.
