• Channel 3 - transducer block with OD index 600
• Channel 4 - transducer block with OD index 700
The channel number of a transducer block is also indicated in the parameter "Asso-
ciated Channel" of the transducer block.
The allocation of the DO function blocks to the transducer blocks is variable and is
achieved by the parameter "CHANNEL" of the function blocks. The number of the
channel (1 ... 4) that is to be controlled by the function block shall be registered in this
parameter. For commissioning the function blocks the respective mode shall be se-
lected (e. g. "Cas"), the configuration of the communication connections shall be load-
ed in the device and the resource block shall be put into the mode "Auto".
The set value for the valve position (OUT_D of the function block) that is transferred
by a DO function block to a transducer block could amount to values between 0 and
255. Hereby, the value "0" means valve "closed", values different from "0" mean valve
"open". Whenever in this instruction manual the term "valve" is used it means the
whole chain consisting of auxiliary valve (pilot valve), control drive and actuator.
The above mentioned setting of the nominal value stands in contrast to many conven-
tional devices, for which the number "0" means "valve current off", and "1" means
"valve current on". The set value is only taken by the transducer block if the respective
state is "Good (C)" or "Good (NC)". In the case that the state is "Uncertain" or "Bad",
the auxiliary valve is not electrically contacted thus putting the drive into the mechan-
ical safety position.
So that a transducer block could correctly transfer the set value of a function block, it
should recognize whether the connected auxiliary valve for opening the valve shall be
electrically contacted or not. This information is fixed by the parameter "Actuator Fail
Action". "Self-opening" means that the connected valve is opened without being elec-
trically contacted by the auxiliary valve, "Self-closing" means that it is closed.
If there is no feedback of the final position used, this value could be directly adjusted.
If there are PFCs connected, a "Setup Wizard" is available, which performs the para-
metering of the "Actuator Fail Action" in a dialogue with the user and which then du-
ring an initialisation run ("Auto Init") automatically determines the type of the final
position feedback contacts and adjusts the respective parameters.
During the initialisation run the valve is opened and closed once. It shall
be secured that there is no staff member endangered or that there is no
dangerous interference into the plant process taking place.
Subject to reasonable modifications due to technical advances.
