Preparations for Installation
The cover plates are to be placed on the left and the right of the light . Due to the special
design of the connections, more lights can be mounted directly next to each other; in addition
a short connection cable is provided, by use of which the lights can be mounted in a corner,
for example.
The mains voltage is connected to connector „INPUT" (printed at the bottom of the housing); con-
nector „OUTPUT" serves to supply power to further lights (a maximum of 10 lights in a row can be
operational).
If the light's „OUTPUT" required (e.g. when only one light is operational), a cover plate must be
put in place to completely cover the output (in place when delivered).
When not in use, the „OUTPUT" connector may not be left open.
Place the cover plates in place where they are required before mounting, they can-
not be removed/attached at a later stage!

Mounting
°
The light can be mounted in two different ways.
a) Screwed in place
• First disconnect the light from the mains voltage, i.e. pull out the mains plug.
• Take off the transparent cover.
• Turn the fluorescent tube carefully
90° (turn forwards or backwards)
and subsequently take it out of the
bracket.
Lay the fluorescent tube down where it cannot fall or roll etc. The fluorescent tube
is very fragile.
• The light can be screwed in place
under the shelf via the two holes, now
visible under the fluorescent tube.
Ensure the screws are not so long that they come out on the other side of the shelf.
• Replace the fluorescent tube and lock it by turning 90°(it is unimportant whether the fluores-
cent tube is turned 90° forwards or 90° backwards).
• Clip on the transparent cover.
b) Mounting using the provided clips
The delivery includes two plastic clips. When these are screwed in place on the shelf, the light
can then be slid over the clips.
• Mark two points on the shelf. The dis-
tance „L1" has to be 327 mm for the
8W light and 554 mm with the 13W
light.
• Screw the clips in place at the
marked locations.
Make sure the screws are not so long
that they come out on the other side
of the shelf.
• Place the light besides the clips on the shelf and slide it on to the clips.
Connection and Getting Started
• Connect the light via the provided power cord to a mains power socket (230V~/50Hz).
• Using the ON/OFF switch the light can be switched on and off.
Changing the fluorescent tube
If the fluorescent tube in the cabinet illumination does not light anymore or flickers, change it.
Proceed as follows:
• Switch the light off and disconnect it from the power supply, i.e. pull out the mains plug.
• Take off the transparent cover.
• Turn the fluorescent tube carefully 90° (forwards or backwards) and then take it out of the
bracket.
• Replace the fluorescent tube and lock it turning 90°(it is unimportant whether the fluorescent
tube is turned 90° forwards or 90° backwards).
• Clip on the transparent cover again.
• Connect the light to the mains supply.
Handling
• Operation is only permissible in dry indoor areas. The product must not get damp or wet.
• Never look directly into the light as this can (just as with other lamps) cause eye damage!
• The following unfavourable conditions are to be avoided at the place of installation or during
transport:
- excessive humidity or dampness
- direct sunlight
- extreme cold or heat
- dust or combustible gases, vapours or solvents
- strong vibrations
- - strong magnetic fields, e.g. close to machines or loudspeakers
• Ensure that the insulation of the entire product is neither damaged nor destroyed. The housing
may not be opened (only for mounting as described in this users manual and for changing the
fluorescent tube)! None of the components inside the product are to be maintained by the user.
• Check the product for damage before use! Any maintenance or repair work should only be per-
formed by authorised personnel.
If you detect any damage, do NOT connect the device to the mains voltage! This constitutes a
mortal danger!
Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer possible, if:
- the device is visibly damaged
- if the device no longer functions
- the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or
- it has been exposed to extraordinary stress during transport
Care and maintenance
Apart from occasionally cleaning the product and changing the fluorescent tube, it is mainte-
nance free, never dismount it.
Switch off the light before cleaning and disconnect it from the mains supply (pull plug out).
Clean the product with a soft, clean and dry cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or
chemical solutions, this affects the surface of the housing (e.g. discolouring).
Disposal
When the product is no longer usable, dispose of it in accordance with the applica-
ble statutory regulations.
