5. Before starting the equipment

Remove the backing foil from the safety
screen (Fig. 1/Item 2) and the inside of the
viewing window (Fig. 1/Item 1).
Check the safety screen and viewing window
(Fig. 1/Item 1; 2) for signs of cracks, scratches
or other damage.
Using a bright light source (for example a
lighter) make sure that the automatic welding
screen is in perfect working order every time
before you start the welding work. Remove
the backing foil from the safety screen (Fig. 1/
Item 2) and the inside of the viewing window
(Fig. 1/Item 1).

6. Operation

6.1 Setting the head circumference (Figure 2)
To reduce the size of the rear headband (Item
7), turn the locking button for the rear headband
(Item 9) clockwise.
To increase the size of the rear headband (Item
7), press the locking button for the rear headband
(Item 9) and turn it anti-clockwise.
6.2 Adjusting the angle and distance from the
viewing window (Fig. 3-4)
Undo the two locking buttons (Item 5) on the left
and right of the automatic welding screen a few
turns. You can now adjust the angle of the welding
screen in the down position by moving the plastic
pins to the appropriate openings.

In addition you can adjust the distance of the
face from the viewing window in three settings
by pulling the welding screen forwards and back-
wards.

When you have selected the ideal setting for your-
self, tighten the two locking buttons (5) again.
6.3 Setting the head height (Fig. 5)
The head height can be adjusted by moving the
plastic pin on the top headband (8).
6.4 Setting the sensitivity (Fig. 6)
The light sensitivity when the automatic welding
screen is switched on can be adjusted using the
sensitivity setting wheel (11). This can be helpful
in changing light conditions.
6.5 Setting the delay time for brightening
(Figure 6)
The delay time setting wheel (12) enables you to
adjust the delay time for brightening. This function
is designed to adjust the welding screen to take
account of the fact that the workpiece may under-
go fi nal glowing.
