Connection and putting into use
Set the appropriate code as described above.
Select a chime melody with the melody switch (3). A different
melody can be set on each hand or auxiliary transmitter (up to 4
different melodies selectable); it can thereby be determined
which hand transmitter was used by means of the melody repea-
ted by the CEI 1 door chime module.

Battery operation of the CEI 5 auxiliary trans-
mitter:
Fitting / changing the batteries
Open the battery compartment (5), by lightly pressing down on
the cover and then pushing it away and down.
Place the 12 V battery with correct polarity (indicated by the
legend in the battery compartment and in Illustration 1 on the
fold-out page).
Close the battery compartment cover once more.
Attention!
• Change the battery when the transmitter performance drops
or when the transmitter no longer operates, at the latest
however after one year.
• Remove the battery from the unit when this will be out of use
for a long period, to avoid damage from battery leakage.
• Batteries should be regarded as waste requiring special
handling and so do not belong with general refuse. Empty
batteries can be disposed of properly in containers provided
for this purpose in specialist electrical shops.
• Observe correct polarity when fitting batteries!
• The 12V battery should only be exchanged for one of the
same type (A23).
Tip:
Use an alkaline battery to achieve the longest possible opera-
ting time.
Connect both door chime button (contact) leads to the transmit-
ter fixing screws (6) and (7).
