(7) Fixing screw
The second door chime button lead is connected to this fixing
screw (with battery operation only).
(8) Fixing screw
One AC supply lead (8-14VAC) with AC voltage operation or the
negative lead with DC voltage operation can be connected to
this fixing screw.
(9) Fixing opening
for wall-mounting the unit.
Code Setting:
The CEI 1 and CEI 2 door chime units are provided with a code at
the factory. The CEI 5 auxiliary transmitter must be set to this
same code.
Proceed as follows:
• Open the battery compartment of the existing receiver (e.g.
CEI 1).
• A sticker can be found under the battery with the code of the
CEI 1 wireless door chime, e.g. "A8AP".
• This code must be set in the new CEI 5.
• Open the battery compartment cover (5) of the new CEI 5
transmitter.
• Remove the battery.
• Part of the printed circuit board is visible. On this board an
8-pole DIP switch (2) can be found, with which the
corresponding transmission code must be set.
6
• Set the transmission code with reference to the code table.
• Check the setting. Insert the battery, activate the transmitter
by bridging the fixing screws (6) and (7) briefly with wire. With
a correct code setting, the receiver unit of the existing CEI 1
door chime system must now react. Should this not occur,
check the code setting.
• If everything functions, the battery compartment cover (5) can
be replaced.
Only the two last characters are significant when choosing the
correct code, in our example "AP".
Select the 8-digit code following the letters "AP" in the table; in
this example the correct code would be "00001111".
Set this code on the DIP switch (2). Use a suitable tool to set the
switch.
Switch in ON position means a "1"
Switch in OFF position means a "0"
