The battery is between 10 % and 30 % charged
The empty battery indicator flashes. The battery
charge status is under 10 %. You can measure for
approximately another 15–20 minutes from when the
flashing begins until the tool shuts down.
Always replace all batteries/rechargeable batteries at the same
time. Do not use different brands or types of batteries/
rechargeable batteries together.
 Remove the batteries/rechargeable batteries from the
measuring tool when not using it for longer periods.
When storing for longer periods, the batteries/rechargeable
batteries can corrode and self-discharge.
 Make sure to switch the laser off before changing the
batteries. An accidentally switched on laser can blind other
persons.
Operation

Initial Operation

 Protect the measuring tool against moisture and direct
sun light.
 Do not subject the measuring tool to extreme tempera-
tures or variations in temperature. As an example, do not
leave it in vehicles for a long time. In case of large variations
in temperature, allow the measuring tool to adjust to the
ambient temperature before putting it into operation. In
case of extreme temperatures or variations in temperature,
the accuracy of the measuring tool can be impaired.
 Avoid heavy impact to or falling down of the measuring
tool. After severe exterior effects to the measuring tool, it is
recommended to carry out an accuracy check (see "Accura-
cy Check and Calibration of the Measuring Tool", page 20)
each time before continuing to work.
 The contact surfaces and contact edges of the measur-
ing tool must be clean. Protect the measuring tool
against impact and shock. Debris particles or deforma-
tions can lead to faulty measurements.
Setting Up/Attaching the Measuring Tool
To measure or transfer grades, the measuring tool can not only
be placed on or against surfaces, but can also be set up or
fastened in various ways.
Setting up with the levelling mechanics (e.g. on uneven
floors) (see figure B):
– Briefly press against the pedestal 12 to extract it. Press
button 3 to extract the levelling foot 10. Adjust the height of
the levelling foot by turning adjusting screw 4 so that the
laser beam runs along the surface to be measured or the
desired grade is displayed as the measuring value d.
– For work without levelling mechanics, retract pedestal 12
and levelling foot 10. For this, press both parts of the
pedestal () together and then slide the pedestal 12 into
the measuring tool () until it can be heard to engage. To
retract the levelling foot 10, press switch 5 sideways.
Fastening to the tripod:
– Position the measuring tool with the 1/4" tripod mount 11
onto the quick-change plate of the tripod or a commercially
available camera tripod. Tighten the measuring tool with the
quick-change plate locking screw.
Attachment with magnets:
– Place the measuring tool against an adequate magnetic
object via the magnets .
 Check the secure attachment of the measuring tool. Im-
properly secured measuring tools can fall down and cause
injury to yourself or other persons. A falling down measuring
tool can become damaged or cause damage.
Attachment with fastening straps (see figure C):
– Thread the fastening straps 23 through the openings 24
and attach the measuring tool with both straps to a pipe or
similar. Pay attention that the Velcro attachment of the
strap end is pressed against the fastening strap. For thin
pipes, thread the fastening strap through the openings with
the smooth side facing outward and wrap it once more
