Operatin Instructions
Setting the time zone
The time signal transmitter DCF 77 transmits the time valid in middle-europe, or the Daylight Saving Time
of middle-europe. When using your SONOCLOCK 910 in another time zone or to indicate a local time in
another time zone, you can set the respective time difference as follows:
• Press and hold first the SNOOZE button and press then also the SLEEP button longer as 5 seconds.
– The date indication disappears and e.g. the indication TI -4 appears
in the bottom part of the display.
– The indication 'TI' indicates Time Zone and the figure indicates the
time difference in hours between the displayed time and the time
received from DCF 77 (middle-europe).
For normal use in middle-europa (and after putting the set in
operation for the first time) the time difference is installed at 0:
• After entering the time zone adjustment mode, you can now install
the time zone (from -9 to +9 hours) with the +/- buttons. The actual
time indicated in the upper part of the display changes respectively and indicates the selected local time.
A manually set time will not be changed.
• If you wish to indicate e.g. the local time in the U.K. (one hour earlier), you have to install the time zone
at -1 (hour). At a received time (from DCF 77) of e.g. 17.45, SONOCLOCK 910 will now show 16.45,
being the local time in the U.K..
• Please note that when the time indication seems to be wrong, the time zone may have been changed
accidentally.
Manual time setting (if no time signal is received)
1.Hold down the AL. MODE button for approx. 5 seconds.
This selects the time adjustment mode and the display will flash for
10 seconds max.
If you make no entry within these 10 seconds, the adjustment mode
is aborted.
2.While the display is flashing, set the quartz clock with the +/- buttons.
If the respective button is kept pressed, time setting will first run at low and then at high speed.
3.Start the quartz clock exactly to the second by pressing the AL. MODE. button once again.
If this is not done, the clock will start after approx. 3 minutes with the set time.
In the manual time setting mode, the date indication will be suppressed.
4.Even when setting the clock manually, it will be synchronized by the DCF 77 time signal as soon as
possible (radio tower symbol).
5.When the clock is manually set, the wake-up functions are retained.

Wake-up
At the set time, the set is switched on with the desired function.
Interrupting and repeating the wake-up function
• A short pressure on the SNOOZE button on the top of the set interrupts each wake-up mode and the
sleep symbol
flashes. After 10 minutes, the wake-up function is recovered. This function can be
repeated (within the switch-on period of 60 minutes). In the wake-up mode with radio programme and
sound signal, the first brief pressure on the SNOOZE button will interrupt only the sound signal, and
the second pressure also the radio.
Aborting the wake-up function
• Keep the SNOOZE button on the top of the set pressed until the symbol
– Wake-up standby for the next day is retained.
• If you do not wish to be woken up at certain days, for example during the weekend, repeatedly press the
AL. MODE button until no wake-up symbol is indicated.
– The set wake-up time is retained for the next wake-up procedure.
• To recover wake-up standby for the next day, select the respective symbol with the AL. MODE button.
Wake-up during a mains failure
– If a mains failure occurs, the wake-up function will not be carried out. When the mains failure is cleared,
the clock will first be synchronized. If the mains supply is recovered within 2 hours after the set wake-up
time, the selected wake-up function will be made up.
– If the mains failure lasts longer than 2 hours, the wake-up function for this day is lost.
Mains failure during a wake-up function
– If the mains supply is recovered within 2 hours after the wake-up function has started, the wake-up
function will be started again if it was not yet running longer than 3 minutes when the mains failure
occured
– If the wake-up function was already running more than 3 minutes when the mains failure occured, it will not
be started again.
Going to sleep while listening to the radio
You can programme your set so that it automatically switches off after a preset playing time of max. 59
minutes has elapsed.
• If you wish wake-up standby for the next day, set the desired wake-up time and select the wake-up
mode.
• Press the SLEEP button. The unit will switch on with the last selected radio station and the display
indicates the
symbol and a playing time of 10 minutes.
• By holding the SLEEP button pressed down, this playing time can be increased in steps of 10 minutes
to up to 59 minutes.
Checking the playing time:
• Briefly press the SLEEP button.
– When the programmed playing time has elapsed, the set automati-
cally switches off and will switch on again the next day with the
selected wake-up function.
• Clearing the playing time before it has elapsed: Press SNOOZE.

and held down.
– The display brightness then adjusts itself to the actual room illumination.
Display/Melody test programme
• First press and hold down the SNOOZE button and then press in addition the PRESET button for more
than 6 seconds.
– All segments will be indicated one after the other in 0.5 s-rythm in the display.
Then all segments are illuminated permanently.
• Pressing any button then starts play of all available melodies. The
display indicates, for example:
• While the melodies are played, you can jump at any time to the be-
ginning of the next or preceding melody by pressing the +/- buttons.
• The next pressure on any button (not the +/- button) will terminate the test programme.
