Explanation of the Operational Control:
On/Off-switch
switches the device on/off
Sensitivity- regulator
for regulating the searching sensitivity.
H = high, L = low sensitivity.
Volume control
for regulating the volume heard in the earphones or at
the loudspeakers.
LED-display:
Green LED "OK"
ready for operation, (see also Correcting Malfunctions).
yellow LED "Boost"
indicates utmost sensitivity.
red LEDs 4 pieces
indicate the size and depth of the object
Operation
Insert batteries as described in the chapter Battery Exchange.
Switch on the device. You may choose wether you prefer the supplied earphones or
the integrated loudspeakers for acoustic indication. When plugging the plug for the
earphones in the earphone socket the integrated loudspeaker switches off automat-
ically.
Swing the round searching coil slowly with constant distance over the ground. Walk
on slowly. Choose a pleasant volume with the volume control. With the sensitivity
regulator you may set the searching sensitivity. Set on the left side of the regulator,
marked with an "H" (high), the device operates at utmost sensitivity this is displayed
by the yellow LED "Boost" in the operating field. This setting is suitable for small as
well as large objects. By turning the regulator clockwise to the right towards "L" (low)
you will diminish the sensitivity of the device. Low sensitivity is only suitable for
searching very large objects. The 4 red LEDs indicate the size and depth of the found
objects.
The integrated micro processor of the device is self-balancing; this serves for avoid-
ing problems when searching in grounds containing minerals or iron and salt water.
The self-balancing is signalled every 5 seconds by a peep tone.

Excavations are exclusively to be carried out by adults.
Inform yourself about the legal regulations concerning excavations in your country.
Unauthorised excavations can mean an infringement of regulations in legal terms
which may be highly fined.
Do not search in known precious, archeological sites if your are not authorised. Con-
tact authorities and museums if you find objects of archeological value.
Any claims for guarantee will become invalid in the event of dam-
age that results from the non-observance of the operating manu-
al. We do not accept responsibility for such damage.
Nor do we accept responsibility for damage to property or for per-
sonal injuries caused by improper use or non-observance of safe-
ty instructions. Guarantees will not be accepted in any such case.
The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible
because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
The searching coil of this device is waterproof but not the operational control, there-
fore, protect the operational control from moisture when searching at the beach.
Avoid extreme mechanical stress of the device.
The device must not be exposed to high temperatures or strong vibrations.
Observe the instructions regarding the exchange of batteries.
Remove batteries from the product if your are not going to operate it for a prolonged
period of time.
Before cleaning the product or carrying out maintenance work please observe the
following safety instructions:
When opening coverings or removing parts of the casing conducting parts might be
uncovered. Therefore, separate the device from all voltage sources and connections
before carrying out maintenance work or overhauling.
Capacitors in the device may still be charged even if it has been separated from all
voltage sources. Reparation has to be carried out only by an expert who is familiar
with the risks involved and the relevant regulations.
