Connection and configuration

Connecting an external energy meter
The product is compatible with the following energy
meters:
n Siemens PAC1600 7KT1661 (The energy meter
incl. the current transformer and instructions
can be ordered from MENNEKES using part no.
18626.)
n TQ Energy Manager EM 420 / KOSTAL Smart
Energy Meter
u Install the external energy meter in the up-
stream electrical installation.
u Connect the energy meter and the product with
a data cable.

To set up blackout protection, the following settings
have to be made using DIP switches:

If the energy meter is to measure external con-
sumers only, an additional setting has to be made
in the configuration tool ("Meter measuring point"
parameter).

6.2.3 Solar charging

The tasks described in this section may only
be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Requirements:
ü The product is connected to an external energy
meter via Modbus RTU and correctly con-
figured. The energy meter captures the excess
electricity from the photovoltaic system.
ü Solar charging is activated.

The product has 3 charging modes (Standard
mode, Sunshine mode, Sunshine+ mode).
Standard mode
Charging occurs at maximum power. Mains power
is used for charging unless there is a sufficient
amount of excess energy.
