1power standby/on button &
indicator
When the main power switch on the side
panel is ON:
Press this button to turn the power on, and
the whole system connected by remote
control connection cables is turned on.
Press it again to turn the system off (power
standby mode).
Notes:
... This indicator lights up in power standby
mode and goes out when this unit is
turned on.
... The system cannot be turned on when
the main power switch on the side panel
is OFF.
2input selector & indicators
Rotate this selector to select the desired
input (tape 1, MD/tape 2, CD, tuner, phono,
aux) source.
3phones jack
Connect the headphone plug to this jack,
and sound to the speakers will be cut off.
Note:
Decrease the volume level to minimum
(∞ position) before connecting head-
phones.
4remote sensor
This sensor receives the signal from the
remote control transmitter.

5Tone (bass/treble) controls
These two tone controls – bass and treble –
can be used to obtain a "flat" frequency
response or a tone which suits your
individual listening preference. The bass
control adjusts low frequencies and the
treble control adjusts the high frequencies.

7balance control
This control is used for adjusting the
balance of the volume level between the
left and right channels.
8FM mode button
This unit automatically switches into the
stereo mode when a stereo broadcast is
received.
Press this button to listen to the radio in the
monaural mode, then the STEREO indicator
on the display will go out.
9memory button
This button is used for presetting the
broadcast stations. (See page 11.)
0band button
This button is used for selecting the FM or
AM broadcasting.

This button is used for tuning in the desired
broadcasting stations, or adjusting the
tuned frequency.
wtuning mode button
Each time you press this button, tuning
mode will change as follows:
Manual tuning T Preset tuning
After selecting the desired tuning mode by
pressing this button, tune in the desired
broadcast by pressing the tuning/preset up

) button.
emaster volume control
This control is used for adjusting the signal
output level to the speakers.
