4.2 Packaging and storage

Storage in an Ex area must not take place. Do not remove packaging until just before
mounting.
Keep the packaging as it will provide optimum protection during transport (e.g. change in
EN
installation site, sending for repair).
Permissible conditions at the place of storage:

Humidity:
Avoid exposure to the following factors:
Direct sunlight or proximity to hot objects

Mechanical vibration, mechanical shock (putting it down hard)
■
Soot, vapour, dust and corrosive gases
■
Store the WIKA radio unit in its original packaging in a location that fulfils the conditions
listed above. If the original packaging is not available, decommission, pack and store the
WIKA radio unit as described below:
1. Deactivate the WIKA radio unit using the activation magnet.
2. Wrap the WIKA radio unit in an anti-static plastic film.
3. Place the WIKA radio unit, along with shock-absorbent material, in the packaging.
4. If stored for a prolonged period of time (more than 30 days), place a bag containing a
desiccant inside the packaging.

Only use original parts, see chapter 2.6 „Scope of delivery".
