charge the rechargeable battery before using your tool for
the first time.
Inserting the Battery
Push the charged battery into the battery holder until it
clicks into place.
Removing the Battery
To remove the rechargeable battery, press the battery re-
lease button and pull the battery out. Do not use force to do
this.
Battery charge indicator
LED
3 × continuous green light
2 × continuous green light
1 × continuous green light
1 × slowly flashing green light
The three LEDs in the battery charge indicator flash quickly
when the temperature of the rechargeable battery is outside
the operating temperature range and/or the overload protec-
tion has been triggered.
Recommendations for Optimal Handling of the
Battery
Protect the battery against moisture and water.
Only store the battery within a temperature range of −20 to
50 °C. Do not leave the battery in your car in the summer, for
example.
A significantly reduced operating time after charging indic-
ates that the battery has deteriorated and must be replaced.
Follow the instructions on correct disposal.
Fitting
Only use saw blades the maximum permitted speed of
u
which is higher than the no-load speed of the power
tool.
Dust/chip extraction (see figure B)
The dust from materials such as lead paint, some types of
wood, minerals and metal can be harmful to human health.
Touching or breathing in this dust can trigger allergic reac-
tions and/or cause respiratory illnesses in the user or in
people in the near vicinity.
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are classified as
carcinogenic, especially in conjunction with wood treatment
additives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials contain-
ing asbestos may only be machined by specialists.
– Use a dust extraction system that is suitable for the ma-
terial wherever possible.
– Provide good ventilation at the workplace.
– It is advisable to wear a P2 filter class breathing mask.
The regulations on the material being machined that apply in
the country of use must be observed.
Bosch Power Tools
Avoid dust accumulation at the workplace. Dust can
u
easily ignite.
Note: When sawing, always use the deflection tube (21) in
order to avoid being hit by flying chips.
The deflection tube (21) can be used either with or without
the dust/chip extractor attached. Turn the deflection tube
away from you so that you will not be hit by the chips (posi-
tion will vary depending on the application) and firmly con-
nect it to the chip ejector (16).
External dust extraction (see figure B)
Connect an extraction hose (20) (accessory) to the chip
ejector (16). Connect the extraction hose (20) to a dust ex-
tractor (accessory). You will find an overview of connecting
Capacity
to various dust extractors at the end of these operating in-
structions.
75–100 %
The dust extractor must be suitable for the material being
40–75 %
worked.
15–40 %
When extracting dry dust that is especially detrimental to
0–15 %
health or carcinogenic, use a special dust extractor.
Inserting/changing the circular saw blade
Remove the battery from the power tool before carry-
u
ing out work on the power tool (e.g. maintenance,
changing tool, etc.). The battery should also be re-
moved for transport and storage. There is risk of injury
from unintentionally pressing the on/off switch.
Wear protective gloves when fitting the saw blade.
u
Danger of injury when touching the saw blade.
Do not use abrasive wheels as the application tool un-
u
der any circumstances.
Only use saw blades that match the specifications
u
given in this operating manual and that are tested and
marked in accordance with EN 847-1
Selecting the saw blade
You will find an overview of recommended saw blades at the
end of these operating instructions.
Removing the saw blade (see figure C)
To change tools, we recommend that you place the power
tool down on the front side of the motor housing.
– Press and hold the spindle lock button (22).
Do not press the spindle lock button (22) while the
u
saw spindle is moving. The power tool may become
damaged if this happens.
– Use the hex key (23) to undo the clamping bolt (24) in ro-
tational direction ➊.
– Swing the retracting blade guard (11) back and hold on
to it firmly.
– Remove the clamping flange (25) and the saw blade (12)
from the saw spindle (27).
Fitting the saw blade (see figure C)
To change tools, we recommend that you place the power
tool down on the front side of the motor housing.
– Clean the saw blade (12) and all the clamping elements
to be fitted.
