2 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
These operating instructions describe a hand-
held cordless sabre saw with removable re-
chargeable battery.
The appliance may only be used together with
the lithium-ion rechargeable batteries and char-
gers specified in the technical data. See the sep-
arate operating instructions for further information
on rechargeable batteries and chargers:

IMPORTANT! Danger of damage to the ap-
pliance and battery. If the appliance is operated
with unsuitable batteries, both the device and the
batteries may be damaged.

Operate the appliance only with the specified
rechargeable batteries.
2.1
Designated use
The sabre saw is intended for sawing branches,
wooden laths, soft metals (e.g. copper, lead),
plastic, lightweight boards, plasterboards, etc.
The saw blade types appropriate to the material
to be sawn must be used (see Technical data).

The sabre saw must be firmly in contact with the
material during sawing. Wide saw blades pro-
duce straight cuts. Narrow saw blades allow
curves to be sawn. The maximum permissible
material width must not be exceeded.
This appliance is intended solely for use in non-
commercial applications. Any other use as well
as unauthorised conversions or modifications are
regarded as contrary to the intended use and will
result in voiding of the warranty as well as loss of
conformity; the manufacturer will thus decline any
responsibility for damage and/or injury suffered
by the user or third parties.
2.2
Possible foreseeable misuse

The appliance is designed neither for com-
mercial use in public parks and sports facili-
ties, nor for use in farming and forestry.

Do not use the appliance in rainy weather.
2.3
Residual risks
Even during correct use of the appliance, there is
always a certain residual risk that cannot be ex-
cluded. Depending on the use, the following po-
tential risks can be derived from the type and
construction of the appliance:

Contact with the saw blade (risk of cutting).
■
Sudden and unexpected movement of the
appliance (risk of cutting).
■
Detachment of parts of the saw blade, e.g. if
the appliance is tilted (risk of cuts/injuries).
■
Detachment of parts of the material being
worked on.
■
Impairment of hearing during work if ear de-
fenders are not used.
2.4
Safety and protective devices
WARNING! Risk of injury. Defective and
disabled safety and protective devices can result
in serious injury.

Have any defective safety and protective de-
vices repaired.
■
Never disable safety and protective devices.
2.4.1
Unlock knob
The appliance has an unlock knob for the ON/
OFF switch to prevent unintentional starting.
2.4.2
Two-hand operation
The appliance is intended for two-hand operation
to avoid the risk of injuries to the hands.
